Stock Controller
Description
The successful incumbent will be responsible for controlling stock movement in warehouse department.
Responsibilities
- Conducting daily cycle counts of stock items, investigating discrepancies accordingly and reporting feedback.
- Managing bin maintenance and necessary replenishment of stock. If it is noticed that stock is in the incorrect bin location it is required that you make the necessary corrections to the system or move the physical stock to the correct place.
- Taking lead in quarterly stock takes, ensuring stock takes are well prepared for in advance and completed in a timely manner.
- Conducting thorough discrepancy investigations by means of system checks, delivery notebooks, general paperwork trails, visual searches for missing stock and checking CCTV camera’s where necessary.
- Ensuring that an effort is made to contribute to the neatness of the stores and general housekeeping.
- Utilizing the required handling equipment such as pallet stackers and forklifts. Training will be provided to operate the required machinery with the correct licenses.
- Ensure the Standard Operating Procedures relating to the management and control of inventory are known, understood, and maintained.
- Assist with FIFO (first in first out) stock rotation principle, obsolete stock as well as expired/non-moving stock.
- Be on standby on weekends if the need arises for an urgent order to be pulled and despatched.
- Spec-Cast may in its absolute discretion and from time to time require you to perform duties which may fall outside your job title and/or job description
Education
Grade 12 Minimum
Skills
- Computer Literacy
- Knowledge of Warehouse Operations
- Physically fit as the job requires some physical labour
Experience
Minimum 3 years in a similar role
